Although people use CBD products all the time, for a huge variety of issues, let’s look at some of the more common uses, and which method of delivery is best for those. People may use CBD for ADD or ADHD, restless leg syndrome, hypertension, sun burns, or virtually anything else. What we will focus on is sleep, pain, anxiety, and muscle strain, soreness, or sprains.

Sleep and anxiety:

Sleep is one of the most common reasons people today are using CBD. CBD is known to be bi-phasic in-regards-to the sleep-wake cycle. Very small amounts of CBD can have more of an alert, focus-driven, type of affect, as opposed to a relaxing, calming, sedative type of impact. The Sleep Doctor has this to say about CBD.

“CBD has the ability to reduce anxiety, which can be helpful in reducing sleep difficulties and improving sleep quality. CBD may increase overall sleep amounts, and improve insomnia, according to research. CBD has been shown to reduce insomnia in people who suffer from chronic pain.

In smaller doses, CBD stimulates alertness and reduces daytime sleepiness, which is important for daytime performance and for the strength and consistency of the sleep-wake cycle.”

So, what works best for sleep? Well, most people are taking CBD tinctures/oils because CBD will cross the blood brain barrier.  So, it makes sense to take it internally (sublingually), so that a higher percentage of the product is absorbed, but also has the ability to calm the brain down, relax the person, and allow them a peaceful and restful night of sleep. With this said, some people are using topical products as well. They simply rub a lotion/cream/balm/salve onto their temples. This way, CBD can enter the through the skin.

This is also the preferred method for anxiety. Anxiety and sleep often go hand in hand because of the relationship between the two. A lot of people sleep so much better if they are just calmer and relaxed.

Pain

Everywhere you look, people are using CBD for pain. Whether it be arthritis, hip pain, knee pain, post-surgery pain, or even plantar fasciitis, people are turning to CBD. While tinctures/oils can be used for pain, it sometimes takes a while for CBD to build up in one’s system enough to make a difference. This is one of the reasons that many people use CBD lotions, creams, balms, salves, especially for localized pain. The impact is often much faster because you can dictate where the CBD is being used. As with sleep, anxiety, and muscle strains, it is important to use a full-spectrum product.

Muscles:

Athletes all around the world are using topical products for muscle recovery and pain. Even Super Bowl MVP Terrell Davis suggests using topical products for muscle pains to help with recovery. He does point out why topical products are also least effective for systemic and whole-body relief. He says:

“Lotions, creams, balms, salves and other topicals work best on the localized pain level. They work remarkably fast – in minutes. The application is simple – just rub the topical in, keep the area uncovered and allow it to absorb.”

“Since only a little CBD enters the bloodstream this method is least effective for whole-body relief. Consider topicals for sore knees, arthritis, joint/lower back pain and plantar fasciitis. Just be mindful of CBD dosage in topicals. In most cases a little dab will do the trick. Personally, I like to put muscle balm on my knees after a tough workout. You gotta get in front of that pain!”

Although everyone’s body is different, and everyone will have a different degree of sensitivity, hopefully this can help you, or someone you know, understand what methods of delivery are most beneficial for certain ailments. In short remember, topical products are generally very helpful for localized areas of pain, or obviously skin issues. For wide-spread affects, tinctures/oils may work better. For brain related activity, such as sleep, anxiety, seizures, etc… many people prefer tinctures/oils.

If you want to experience the Entourage Effect, we believe it is imperative that you preserve the naturally occurring cannabinoids and terpenes that exist in healthy hemp plants.  To do this, would seem simple, but so many people in the industry have taken steps to refine and adulterate their product to make it “more potent”.  Nature’s potency isn’t qualified by quantity, but QUALITY.

At That’s Natural, we never take anything out of our oil and we never add anything back in - the CBD-rich (and other cannabinoids and terpenes as well) hemp oil that we use is raw.  We never use dangerous chemical solvents to refine our product and we never adulterate our oil with foreign-sourced terpenes.  WE NEVER USE CBD ISOLATE. Our product is as natural as you can get.

Leaving the CBD-rich oil in its natural raw form allows the intelligence and abundance of nature to work her magic using the precious plant compounds that exist in these Colorado hemp plants!  Nature knows how to build immunity and strength, and that is what matters for your Endocannabinoid System!
